Join Jamie and Lady Vivus for one or both workshops starting with: Awesome Pleasure, a workshop on how to as for what you want and say no to what you don't! Then learn the ins and outs of getting started with rope bondage in Bedroom Bondage! We'll have time for dinner between workshops! 

Awesome Pleasure (2pm):

At one time or another we've all said yes when we wanted to say no, no when we wanted to say yes, and maybe when we really didn't mean it. In one way or another we've pushed someone's boundaries, invaded their personal space or had ours invaded. We’ve experienced conversations or touch we didn’t want or gone in for some kind of touch without waiting, or accepted a lukewarm yes.  

This is a fun practical class where we work with actual situations sharing useful tools for bettering our boundaries and how well we perceive and support the boundaries of others. We'll through the three parts of the pleasuere talk: Connection, Safety and Pleasure; followed by an opportunity to practice. As with all of our workshops, you can always opt out of any activity at any time.

During this workshop, we’ll: 

• Talk about what a boundary is and where we usually set them versus where we would like to set them 
• Learn how to say "no" clearly and how to respond to hearing one 
• Learn how to explore safely using negotiation, changing our 'yes' to a 'no' when needed, while giving and getting feedback 
• Learn more about trauma responses and embodiment 
• Consider the types of connections we desire 
• Discuss safety needs
• Have opportunities to practice and discuss with other participants  

Bedroom Bondage (6pm):

Intrigued with rope play, and not sure how to get started? Join Jamie and Lady Vivus for Bedroom Bondage and learn the ins and outs of getting started with rope bondage in this class. We will learn the basics of safety, negotiation, and what to have in your rope kit. We will teach a single column ties, the foundation of a large portion of rope bondage, so you can create your own bedroom bondage scenes.

This is a space to practice, watch, and learn open to singles, couples and everyone!

This class will include:

We will learn the basics of safety, negotiation, and what to have in your rope kit. Finally, we will teach a single & double column tie. These ties are the foundation of a large portion of rope bondage, so knowing how to do them properly is a must.

This class is great for beginners and intermediate students.

Schedule:

6:00 pm - Arrive and Mingle

6:30 pm - Opening Circle (please arrive by this time!)

7:00 pm - Single column ties discussion and practice

7:30 pm - Break

7:45 pm - Double column ties and sensation play demo

8:15 pm - Rope lab and sensation play

8:45 pm - Closing circle

9:00 pm - End of event, help us clean up!

What to bring:

• 2 lengths of rope (or more, some available to borrow)
• A yoga mat or beach towel to sit and tie on
• Water
• Medical Scissors/Trauma sheers or seatbelt cutting tool
• Sensation toys such as blindfolds, feathers, and pervertables
• Don't forget to bring something for the potluck!

Do I need a partner to tie with?

Probably! You are welcome to come alone to observe, but this is intimate partner practice, it would be best to come with a close friend or intimate partner.

Do I need my own rope?

NO! Limited loaner rope is available (please note it is jute, and not recommended for those with a grass allergy)

Please bring your own rope if you have it!

Lady Vivus: 

Lady Vivus (she/her) is a spiritually & culturally driven sex-positive educator & organizer. Lady Vivus is a Professional Switchinatrix, hucow & Bootblack, & is a self-proclaimed “Jewish American Pleasure Princess” & Dairy Queen.  She hopes to inspire others to enjoy sexuality & dynamics from an authentic place, as well as help folx find their spiritual place with leather & healing within it. Her love of community, education, & sharing ideas with other sex-positive folx is insatiable.  Lady V has taught all over the United States for organizations & conferences such as Kinkfest, Southeast Leatherfest, Sex Positive World, SubSpace, & more! Jamie Cawelti (Gwynny): 

Jamie (she/they) is the executive director of Sex Positive Portland and SPW; she has been hosting classes, intimacy workshops and speed dating since 2018. She is polyamorous, queer, and kinky, with a love of shibari/rope bondage. She leads discussion groups and classes on relationships of all sizes, orientations, and dynamics. Her background is in communications, video production, and marketing & or social media @famous.alter.ego @infamous.alter.ego

Sex Positive World is an umbrella organization that encourages and supports worldwide sex-positive communities.
